Hello guys! It is me again! Today, i'm gonna teach you how to make your little own D.I.Y gift sweet can. The materials needed are very simple.
1) A can and probably some cutely wrapped sweets. I bought these from Daiso, but any kind of sweets or can will do. It will be nicer if it is a glass bottle thought, I don't know maybe it'll be more exquisite and precious?
2) Stationary: A pair of scissors, different coloured markers (any colour or you prefer one is fine) and of course glue. I would prefer to use liquid glue and not the stick glue, UHU glue is a good choice, easily available.
3) Felt cloth; I would prefer if you buy these kind of rolled up felt cloth, it's smaller and more convenient to cut rather than the huge sets. But then again it all boils down to your circumference of the bottle.
4) To add some decorations I would be using paper roses. Again, it is available at Daiso, if not you can try other kinds of decorations.
5) Ribbons; however today i'm only using some

Note: I would suggest to use liquid glue like UHU and not stick glue. Liquid glue holds better. Hmm....it's fine to use super glue but then it's kind of dangerous why not use normal liquid glue instead?
Note: I'm not sure about you guys but if you feel that you have a beautiful handwriting or want to do something original, I suggest you use coloured permanent markers. In this case it would be good to use painty markers available in Popular.
But for me today, i'm using alphabet stickers which is still cool by the way.
This sticker book is from Popular and quite cheap about $3. As you can see on the cover page, the types of sticker alphabets on this book has a nice variation to choose from.
Okay so now for the steps...
1) Choose a felt cloth. Today, I'll be using a light pink felt cloth.
2) Use a ruler and measure and mark all four sides to be at least 1.5 cm
3) Use a 2B pencil and draw the lines marked earlier.
5) Use a pair of scissors to cut out the semi-circles drawn.
It should look like this.
6) Then wrap the felt cloth over the can and press down the cloth firmly. Shift the felt cloth accordingly such that all sides are proportionate.
7) Then use UHU glue to stick the cap and the felt cloth together. Ensure that the felt cloth firmly sticks to the cap.
When you view it, it should stick and balance by its on. Press down the sides to give it some shape.
8) Try wrapping the white ribbon around the can and cut it to a length at least 20cm more than the circumference of the tin. Glue the ribbon to the side of the cap whilst ensuring some leftover ribbon on both sides.
9) Tie a knot
10) Try wrapping the lace around the side of the cap and cut it with length of at least an extra 20cm with the circumference. Use glue to stick the lace to the side of the cap.
11) Tie a knot.
12) Now take some decorative paper roses. (You can easily buy it from a nearby Diaso store). Today, I'll be choosing a pink, red and blue paper rose.
13) You can arrange the roses however you like. For me, I like the roses bundled together so I put them side by side, just below the knots I tied with the ribbon and lace.
14) Next, take the fabric tape and tape the bottom of the glass tin.
15) Use the alphabet stickers and paste the phrase, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY". Optional: You can write or paste the name of the recipient of this gift. :)
16) Last step, fill the glass tin with candies!
We're done!
The End product! Hope you guys enjoyed this! Of course, a lovely gift should be accompanied by a lovely birthday card. Till next time X)
