Wedding dress (Chalk art)

Hi guys! It's me once again! Last weekend, I decided to do continue on my chalk art sketches. Today it's about THE WEDDING DRESS! It is somehow inspired by my idiom book, "Rome was not built in a day," where he bride who was designing this dress told this to her best friend whom was pestering her to finish her dress because her wedding was tomorrow. For this art, I decided to use purple flowers to represent the purity and a corset like dress which gives off a feminine and elegant look.

It is a dress that covers to the feet. The model is drawn without a face because the main emphasis is on the dress so I thought maybe i'll use a "dummy" model. The top of the dress is like a corset with frills around the neck area and at the bottom part, it is covered with plenty of frills of different  colours. First is the short purple frills to give off the elegance as well as highlight the purple flowers on top of the model's head. Next is a longer and bigger frill which is blue in colour to suggest royalty . The colours purple and blue are used partly also because they were commonly found during the olden days like the Victorian period. This dress is not only suited for the olden period, it has a tinge of modernity. Well that is all for today. I hope you enjoyed it. Bye! :)

Alphabet stamps and stickers

Hi, guys, this is me again! Recently, I bought a collection of alphabet stickers and stamps and thought I'll like to show you my collection. ;) I really love these materials and maybe for those art lovers out there you may consider to buy these items.

These alphabet stickers can be found in Vivo City, Paper market. If I remember correctly there are three types of colours; red, white and turquoise. I'm sure there will be people who know about paper market but for those who don't you should go there, it is ultimate haven! There is so many exquisite art materials to choose from! They even sell guide books which shows guidelines on how to create certain D.I.Y stuff. It's awesome and you should check it out! Anyway, these alphabet stickers are the pop-out version with different fonts which I feel it's quite cool. Currently, I'm actually using these stickers to decorate my laptop. These are good for scrap-book making.

The transparent glass plague along with the three Versa Colour collection; blue, green and black were bought from Beauty World (some shop that I can't remember) Though the shop is small, but there are many good art supplies there too. If you think Vivo city is too far away you may want to go there in Bukit Timah. Both shops sell the different colour pad, the glass plague and the sticky stamps.  For me, I bought the Alphabet set but there are many other types of stamps ranging from different designs and sizes. Some of the designs are; balloons, animals, etc. The silver one (Encore!) can be found in Papermarket. After using both brands, I feel that both Versa Colour and Encore! are quite good. Though maybe Encore! has a wide range of colour platelets. From what I have seen, I don't think Versa Colour sells metallic colour like silver and gold. So if you want these colours go buy Encore! instead.

This box of alphabet chops were at a discount of one dollar and I thought it was unique and worth the price. It's actually made of wood  and you can just use your creative juices to form different words and patterns with these stamps. This is not the only design though, there are at least five to ten different font design for this kind of stamps. Extremely worth it!

Skull (Flower)

This is a chalk art that depicts a skull adorned with a huge red flower and many small purple flowers. Actually the colour of the big flower was pink but I filtered it to be red since I felt red represents passion, something distinctively human. It kinds of remind me of Spain with their bold red dresses and roses...
Since I the huge flower was already something striking I decided that my small flowers had to attract less attention hence I chose a colour with a lighter hue. Light purple was the perfect choice and I did not want to use orange because it'll just blend in with the flower. Moreover, purple gives off a relaxing and soothing feel, a stark contrast compared to the attention-seeking red. As it the theme is about nature I decided to put in some curly veins. The veins were purposefully curved like the skull shape (to make it thinner?) and I seriously don't know why but I thought it was pretty.
Okayy and the yellow strip or design was so not expected. I just felt the whole picture was a bit plain and I guess i'm the type of person that will just add and add until it becomes a whole other kind of picture...Oh well, it just felt right to draw to add more colour?
The small tear is a must-add I told myself before drawing. Actually if you could see my other works you'll understand that I love drawing human or non-human art with tears or something related to water.  I'm actually happy about the eye as I never expected to have this circular texture almost as if the skull's eyes were hypnotising! (Okay maybe i'm just exaggerating a little bit :p)
Nowadays I'm always dreaming about pictures related to skull...I got this huge temptation to do my own I-phone cover with fabric tape, painty marker and nail-polish! (Yeah, you heard it right, nail polish!) Maybe, if I have time I would do my own I-phone cover and post it online! XD
